Supporting Simon’s Journey to Comfort and Connection

Simon’s recent transition from a hospital care setting into a Beyond Care Supported Independent Living (SIL) home has been a truly positive and person-centred outcome.

Previously feeling unhappy in a clinical environment, Simon is now thriving in a home that reflects his needs, preferences, and lifestyle. With 24/7 tailored support and close proximity to his family in Penrith, he has been able to reconnect with what matters most to him.

His bedroom has been thoughtfully personalised around his interests, including cricket, rugby, and his favourite TV shows and movies, all enjoyed on his big screen TV, creating a space where he feels comfortable, safe, and at home.

“Since moving into his new home, we’ve seen a remarkable improvement in Simon’s mood and overall wellbeing. He is more engaged, more comfortable, and genuinely enjoying his environment.”

Since the move, Simon’s diabetes management has been successfully re-established, and he is now preparing to begin community participation outings, further supporting his independence and social connection.

Beyond Care will continue working closely with Simon and his support network to ensure his preferences are respected, his clinical needs are safely managed, and he is supported to live a meaningful and stable life aligned with his goals.
