A Safe Place to Stay When You Need It Most
When life changes suddenly or you need extra support for a short time, having a safe, welcoming space to stay can make all the difference. Whether you’re waiting for home modifications, transitioning out of hospital, or simply looking for a supported weekend away, Beyond Care’s Short Term Accommodation (STA) and Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) services are here to help.
Our goal is simple — to give you comfort, choice, and the right support while you’re between homes or routines. Every stay is tailored to meet your needs, your NDIS goals, and your peace of mind.
What Is STA and MTA?
🛏️ Short Term Accommodation (STA)
STA provides a temporary, supported place to stay — often used for respite, emergencies, or a change of scenery. It gives both participants and carers the chance to rest and recharge, with trained staff providing 24/7 care if needed.
Common reasons for STA include:
-
Giving carers a short break
-
Trying out a new living arrangement
-
Needing a supported getaway
-
Temporary support after hospitalisation
🏡 Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)
MTA is for people who are ready to move out of hospital or other temporary settings but are waiting for their permanent home to be ready. It bridges that gap, offering comfort and support while long-term plans are being finalised.
You might be eligible for MTA if:
-
You’re waiting for home modifications
-
Your Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is still being built
-
You’re moving between providers or locations
How STA & MTA Align with Your NDIS Goals
Both STA and MTA are NDIS-funded supports designed to help you live more independently, improve your daily routines, and build confidence in new environments. Depending on your situation, they may fall under Core Supports (such as respite) or Capacity Building if part of a broader transition plan.
Our team can help you understand where STA or MTA fits in your NDIS plan, and work with your Support Coordinator to ensure everything aligns with your funding and goals.
