Senior Support Workers – Supported Independent Living

Beyond Care is seeking Senior Support Workers in Western and South Western Sydney region to join the dynamic team to monitor the day-to-day delivery of supports in Supported Independent Living program (Group homes)

Description of the role

The position of a Senior Support Worker is to provide the SIL Service Coordinator assistance in delivering services in a manner to Beyond Care Participants that ensures quality service delivery that meets the participant’s needs and at the same time working towards the participant’s objectives in a person-centred manner. This position will be a combination of admin and floor shifts

Positions available at the SIL sites at following locations:

  • Blacktown (Female Only)
  • Glenmore Park (Female Only)
  • Schofields
  • The Ponds (Female Only)
  • Parramatta
  • Chester Hil
  • Edmondson Park

Selection Criteria/Key Competencies Essential

  • Demonstrate understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, their carers and families.
  • Tertiary qualifications in disabilities and preference of a minimum 1-year experience as a support worker. 
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the complex needs of people with disabilities
  • Understanding relevant Services Act and Standards.
  • Understanding of WH&S Legislation.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Comprehensively Insured Vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Available to work Full time with permanent full time working rights
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication.
  • High level of computer literacy with competency in use of cloud-based CRM, rostering systems and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook
  • Assisting Service Coordinators in preparation of support workers rosters in accordance to the SCHADS Award and client needs.
  • Daily running of Group home.
  • Prepare to participate in on call roster within Service Coordinators team after hours and over the weekends/public Holidays.
