Disability Support Worker – Community Living (In-Home Support)- Western Sydney
Beyond Care is looking for proactive, energetic individuals to work with Beyond Care’s clients in our Community Living program.
This is a varied role that requires someone with the energy, values and flexibility to provide the best quality support to Beyond Care’s clients. We have casual and part time opportunities.
Multiple Part time permanent and Casual positions available
Beyond Care has various positions available for In-home support as well for the clients living out in the Community Independently.
Description of the role
- Supporting active clients to live independently in their own home and in the community.
- Engaging clients in 1:1 and group based activities and programs delivered in group setting programs.
- Supporting clients with medical appointments, transportation, personal care and domestic tasks such as menu planning, cooking and cleaning.
- Integration in the community and active support - going for walks, going to the gym, shopping etc.
- Travel across South-Western Sydney region.
- Be able to work short shifts
Selection Criteria/Key Competencies Essential
- Certificate III in Community, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Support Worker
- Minimum 3-4 days availability during the week.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, Australian Driver's License and ability to travel with third party insurance.
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Working with Children's Check and NDIS worker screening check or willingness to obtain one.
- Rights to work in Australia
- A genuine desire to provide quality care and enhance the lives of our clients
- Reliable, responsible attitude towards work and able to commit to regular hours ongoing.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Access to smart phone.
- Ability to provide a person-centered approach that empowers the client's independence and choice
- Flexibility to work 2-4 hours shifts or longer shifts that meet the needs of our clients i.e. morning, day, afternoon, evening, night, sleepovers, active nights, weekend, public holidays
- A second language is desirable but not essential.
