About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping clients maintain their independence and engage with their communities. Responsibilities include:
Assisting clients in their homes and in the community to enhance their independence.
Facilitating one-on-one and group-based activities.
Providing support with medical appointments, transport, personal care, and daily household tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Encouraging community participation through activities like gym visits, shopping, and outdoor walks.
Travelling across South-Western Sydney to provide support where needed.
Availability for shorter shifts as well as longer hours, depending on client needs.
Selection Criteria/Key Competencies
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Certificate III in Community Services, Aged Care, Disability, or equivalent.
Experience working as a Support Worker.
Minimum availability of 3-4 days per week.
A reliable vehicle, Australian Driver’s Licence, and third-party insurance.
A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
A valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Full working rights in Australia.
A strong commitment to providing high-quality care and empowering clients.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Access to a smartphone for work-related tasks.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, sleepovers, and weekends.
Knowledge of an additional language is an advantage but not essential.
