Disability Support Worker – Community Living (In-Home Support)- Western Sydney

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping clients maintain their independence and engage with their communities. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting clients in their homes and in the community to enhance their independence.

  • Facilitating one-on-one and group-based activities.

  • Providing support with medical appointments, transport, personal care, and daily household tasks such as cooking and cleaning.

  • Encouraging community participation through activities like gym visits, shopping, and outdoor walks.

  • Travelling across South-Western Sydney to provide support where needed.

  • Availability for shorter shifts as well as longer hours, depending on client needs.

Selection Criteria/Key Competencies

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Certificate III in Community Services, Aged Care, Disability, or equivalent.

  • Experience working as a Support Worker.

  • Minimum availability of 3-4 days per week.

  • A reliable vehicle, Australian Driver’s Licence, and third-party insurance.

  • A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

  • A valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

  • Full working rights in Australia.

  • A strong commitment to providing high-quality care and empowering clients.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Access to a smartphone for work-related tasks.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, sleepovers, and weekends.

  • Knowledge of an additional language is an advantage but not essential.
