Community Support Worker

Beyond Care is seeking COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKERS to work around Western Sydney region in community living program to assist our clients in daily activities in Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith, Merrylands, Ryde, Epping, The Hills and Mt Druitt areas.

This program is to assist clients to empower the independence and choice in their daily living supports or assistance with community access.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of a range of person-centred programs
  • Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies
  • Assist and support clients with personal and hygiene care
  • Manual handling and household tasks such as menu planning, cooking and cleaning
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping
  • Ensure the home is a safe and nurturing environment

Essential requirements:

  • Certificate III in Community, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker
  • Minimum 3-4 days availability during the week.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, Australian Driver's License and ability to travel with third party insurance
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current Working with Children's Check and NDIS worker screening check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • A genuine desire to provide quality care and enhance the lives of our clients
  • Reliable, responsible attitude towards work and able to commit to regular hours ongoing.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Access to smart phone.
  • Ability to provide a person-centered approach that empowers the client's independence and choice
  • Flexibility to work 2 hours shifts or longer shifts that meet the needs of our clients i.e. morning, day, afternoon, evening, night, sleepovers, active nights, weekend, public holidays
  • A second language is desirable but not essential.
