Beyond Care recently hosted a House Warming Party at our brand-new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartments in Merrylands, and it was a fantastic event!
We were thrilled to welcome NDIS participants, families, and support coordinators to explore our modern, spacious, and fully accessible homes. The day was filled with great company, delicious food, and insightful discussions about how Beyond Care’s home and living support services can enhance the lives of those with high support needs.

Beyond Care is proud to offer High Physical Support (HPS), Fully Accessible (FA), and Improved Liveability accommodation in our brand-new 1 and 2-bedroom SDA apartments. Designed with modern fixtures, open spaces, and participant wellbeing in mind, these apartments provide a supportive and welcoming environment.
Our Merrylands SDA features:

✅ 24/7 on-site staff support for peace of mind
✅ Accommodation for participants with 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 support ratios or drop-in supports
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) – A New Era of Independence and Support
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is designed for individuals with extreme functional impairments or very high support needs. These homes include specialised design features to enhance accessibility, safety, and independence, allowing residents to live as comfortably and independently as possible while receiving the support they need.
SDA homes are carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of participants, incorporating:
🏡 Wider doorways and step-free access for improved mobility
🍽️ Adjustable-height kitchen counters to promote independence
🚿 Specialised bathrooms with support rails and accessible fixtures
🔔 Automated systems and assistive technologies for enhanced ease of living
Meeting the Needs of Those with Extreme Functional Impairments
For individuals with significant difficulties in daily living, SDA homes provide a secure and supportive environment with tailored modifications and assistive technology. The design ensures that support workers and caregivers can provide efficient, high-quality care while residents maintain a sense of independence.
Who Is Eligible for SDA?
To qualify for SDA under the NDIS, participants must meet the following criteria:
✔️ Extreme Functional Impairment or Very High Support Needs – Requires extensive assistance with daily activities.
✔️ SDA Housing Requirement – Demonstrates that SDA is the most suitable form of accommodation.
✔️ NDIS Funding – Must be eligible for NDIS funding that covers SDA costs.
